3. Meditate

I know what you’re thinking….it may seem overrated, especially on the days when it seems too difficult to sit still and carve out the time; however any form of meditation can be a beneficial practice for mental health and clarity. Meditation is a commonly used practice to take breaks from the hustle and bustle of life and to get back in tune with your inner self.

For those of you whom have never mediated before, we suggest you start slowly and ease yourself into the practice. Firstly, find a comfortable and quiet place, somewhere you are able to relax fully and be free from little distractions (where ever that may be). Begin with just dedicating 10 minutes; sit comfortably, close your eyes, relax your body and your mind by taking some deep breaths - breathe deeply in through the nose and exhale deeply through your mouth and with every breath relax your shoulders an inch at a time. Listen to your body, listen to your breath. Remember, meditation takes practice just like everything else, so start slowly with a goal in mind. When you become comfortable with the 10 minutes increase the time to 15-20 minutes if you wish and time allows, soon you’ll be able to mediate up to an hour and I promise you’ll feel amazing when this can be incorporated into your life, just practice it when you can.
